COVID Update - Week of May 2nd-6th

Dear St. Amelia Families, Teachers and Support Staff,

Please review our latest COVID update for the week of May 2-6, 2022: During the week of May 2-6 we had nine confirmed cases of COVID-19 on campus. We are seeing an uptick in cases and a variety of symptoms from simple head cold symptoms to fever and vomiting. Please keep your child at home if he/she is sick. Not included in this week's report because these are reported cases for today, May 9th, we have 10 additional COVID positive cases. There is no pattern to absences in our classrooms. Our school nurse, Mrs. Kibler, is able to test, with parent permission, students who exhibit mild symptoms of COVID-19. If the student is negative, he/she will be permitted to return to class. Students who exhibit a fever, are vomiting and/or have a severe headache will be sent home, regardless of test outcome. The school will continue its multi-layered approach to mitigate the spread of any illness in the building. If you would like to request a N95 mask(s) or a COVID test kit(s), please use this link here to notify our front office team. All students, parents, guardians, and siblings should continue to monitor their health for symptoms of COVID-19 and follow the guidelines from the Department of Health. If your child is ill or experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19, please keep your child at home, use an at-home test kit, and contact your medical provider for assistance. Please notify us via email of any COVID positive students to office@stameliaschool.org or lkibler@stameliaschool.org Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Katie McIntyre at kmcintyre@stameliaschool.org, if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you and God Bless, Mrs. Katie McIntyre, Principal
